BURNABY, B.C. — Happy trails, Burnaby 8-Rinks. Bonjour, Scotia Barn.
The Lower Mainland’s flagship hockey location is officially sporting a new name as Canlan Ice Sports and Scotiabank announced a new partnership on November 8th.
Whether it’s the barn you grew up playing in, or a barn burner of a game, it’s a name that’s synonymous with old-time hockey that’s being brought to life with a mutual love of the game from both organizations.
What does this mean for ASHL players out in Burnaby? Well, for one, you can expect to see some new bling on the walls as work on new signage throughout the building will kick off in late 2019. As we transition into 2020, you’ll also notice that your games on Pad 2 are now on the Scotiabank Rink instead.
Oh, and you’ll also see no shortage of new Scotiabank-branded programming happening in and around the building as we get set to party with our new teammates.
